About the Best Warrior Competition
The U.S. Army Sustainment Command’s finest Warriors, representing nine commands within ASC will gather at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, to compete in the 2015 ASC Best Warrior Competition. After winning at their local command levels, these Warriors will now represent their command in competition to see who will be named the ASC Best Warriors - one as ASC Soldier of the Year and the other as ASC NCO of the Year.
Warriors in the ranks of Private through Specialist can compete for ASC Soldier of the Year. Those competing for ASC NCO of the Year must be in the ranks of Corporal through Sergeant First Class. Warriors selected to compete for these prestigious titles have mastered a series of benchmarks at the Brigade level to qualify for the ASC Best Warrior Competition.
Upon arrival to Rock Island Arsenal, these elite competitors will in-process, then test their Army aptitude by conquering a strenuous Urban Orienteering course, board interviews, physical fitness tests, an essay, a written test, and Warrior tasks and battle drills relevant to today’s operating environment.
Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony M. Bryant, Army Sustainment Command’s highest-ranking enlisted Soldier, will oversee this annual competition.
