Colonel Scott P. Noon assumed the duties as commander of the 407th Army Field Support Brigade in June 2018. COL Noon was commissioned from James Madison University ROTC in 1994 with a degree in International Affairs. His first assignment was in the 2-327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) as a Rifle Platoon Leader and S-3 Air.
COL Noon was branch detailed to Quartermaster and following a short transition course, he served in HQ/A, 626th Forward Support Battalion as the Supply Platoon Leader/XO. Following the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course he took command of E/1-507th Infantry where he was responsible for all Parachute Rigger support to Fort Benning, GA. He later took command of A/203rd Forward Support Battalion (3rd BCT/3rd ID). COL Noon was then selected to serve as the Airborne Services Detachment (FARP) Commander, 1-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (ABN) in early 2002. He went on to serve as the Battalion Logistics Officer (S-4), 1-160th SOAR. After Command and General Staff College and the School of Advanced Military Studies, COL Noon was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division where he served in the Division G-3 Plans section. He later served in the 782nd Brigade Support Battalion as the Support Operations Officer and the 4/82nd BCT Executive Officer. COL Noon then completed two years in the Joint Special Operations Command J-4 where he served as a Plans and Operations Officer. He commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion (HHBn), 101st Airborne Division from 2011-2014, and attended the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS) in Norfolk, VA for Senior Service College. Following JAWS, COL Noon was assigned to the U.S. Special Operations Command, where he served for two years as the Chief of the Compartmented Plans Section, J5. He recently returned from Kuwait, where he served as the Deputy Director for Sustainment, Combined Joint Task Force-Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. He has seven deployments in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
COL Noon's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (2OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Master Parachutist Badge, Parachute Rigger Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and the Ranger tab. He has numerous foreign jump wings.
COL Noon is married and they have 3 children.
