Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Scott C. White assumed the duties as Command Sergeant Major Army Sustainment Command-Army Reserve Element in May 2019. He was born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. In 1981 he joined the United States Army Reserve through the split option program and attended Basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and completed his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
CSM White has served in various assignments starting with the 281st Transportation Company, Las Cruces, New Mexico, 4153rd US Army Reserve Forces School, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 8th Battalion (T,C.) 95th Division, Shreveport, Louisiana, 4th Brigade 95th Division, Grand Prairie, Texas, 3rd Army, Bagram, Afghanistan, 5035th Garrison Support Unit, Fort Bliss, Texas, CSM of the 418th Quartermaster Battalion (petroleum support) Tucson, Arizona, 2208th Mobilization Support Battalion, Fort Bliss, Texas, 647th Regional Support Group, Fort Bliss, Texas, 2nd Brigade Pacific Division, Denver, Colorado, and currently serving as the Army Support Command - Army Reserve Element (ASC-ARE) Command Sergeant Major.
CSM White has served in multiple leadership positions from squad leader to CSM, as well as senior instructor, regional area manager, and OC/T. While serving in the above duty positions, CSM White has participated in three mobilizations and operational deployments to Fort Leonard Wood (Operation Desert Storm CONUS); Bagram, Afghanistan (OEF, OCONUS); Kandahar Garrison CSM, Afghanistan (OEF 14 OCONUS).
CSM White’s formal military training consists of Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, TC Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course, Plumber and Pipe Fitters course, Battle Focus Instructors course, Small Group Instructors course, Duty Appointed Retention NCO Course, Combat Lifesaver course, 91st Division OC/T training Course, the USASMA Sergeants Major Course, Residence Class 52, Pre-Command Course-Command Sergeants Major Development course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, Army Forces Management Course, and the Operational Contracting Course (3C ASI). He is a Civil servant with the US Airforce as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic and his civilian education includes a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Leadership from Trident University, Two Associate’s Degrees one in Computer aided Drafting and one in Building Technology, both from New Mexico State University. He has completed the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Riders course, and Advanced Riders course
