Lieutenant Colonel Christina L. Rivas took command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Korea, 403rd Army Field Support Brigade, U.S. Army Sustainment Command,
July 8, 2020.

LTC Rivas was most recently assigned to U.S. Central Command as a Logistics Planner in the J4. 

LTC Rivas’ early command and staff assignments include: assistant S3, 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion; Platoon Leader and Executive Officer, 62nd
Quartermaster Company, Fort Hood, Texas; material management officer, 498th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion; commander, 595th Maintenance Company, K-16 Air Base, South Korea; support operations officer, 401st Army Field Support Battalion, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; capability developer for the Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Lee, Virginia.

From 2012-2014 she served as the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade S4 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. LTC Rivas also served as an operations training officer for U.S. Army Forces Command G3/5/7, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 2015, LTC Rivas deployed to Afghanistan to serve as the Special Operations Joint Task Force-Afghanistan commanding general’s executive officer.

LTC Rivas’ deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004 and 2008) and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2016.

She received her commission as a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps in 2002 from Radford University, Virginia. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Relations from Radford University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Fayetteville State University, North Carolina.

Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Service Medal; the Defense Meritorious Service Medal; four Meritorious Service Medals; four Army Commendation Medals; the Army Achievement Medal; two Joint Meritorious Unit Awards; the National Defense Service Medal; the Iraqi Campaign Medal Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals; the Korean Defense Service Medal; the NATO Medal; the Army Service Medal; the Artillery Saint Barbara Award; and the Quartermaster Order of Saint Martin Award.

LTC Rivas is married and has four children.
