Sergeant First Class Keith A. Lane assumed the duties as the NCOIC of the AFSB-NEA June 2018. SFC Lane grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. He joined the U.S. Navy in September 1992. He attended Basic Training and his AT school in Orlando, Florida.
Keith was stationed aboard the USS Mount Whitney as a Boatswain mate Third Class from January 1993 to August of 1996. After a break in service, Keith enlisted in the U.S. Army March 2005 as a 52D Power Generation Equipment Repairer. In July 2009, he re-classed to a 63B, Wheeled Vehicle Repairer. Keith holds an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. His military education and courses include Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training for Power Generation Equipment Repairer, Advanced Individual Training for Wheeled Vehicle Repairer, Combat Lifesavers Course, Basic Leader Course, Combative Level One, Advanced Leader Course, Contracting Officer Representative Course, Senior Leader Course, Maintenance Manager Course, Unit Prevention Leader, Army Basic Instructor Course, Cadre Training Course, and Common Faculty Developer Instructor Course.
SFC Lane’s military assignments include 326 STB (Fort Campbell, KY, FOB Warrior, and FOB Speicher Iraq), 3/7 Infantry (Fort Stewart, GA, Al Assad Iraq, and Camp Khaled, Iraq), 6/8 CAV (Fort Stewart, GA, and FOB Shank, Afghanistan), 16th Ordnance (Fort Lee, VA). Former duty positions include Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Shop Foreman, Senior Mechanic, Motor Sergeant, Maintenance Chief, Instructor, and Reverse Cycle Training Operations Sergeant. SFC Lane’s military awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Navy Excellence, Army Good Conduct Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Non-Art 5 NATO Medal, the Basic Army Instructor Badge, the Combat Action Badge, the Driver Badge, and the Mechanic Badge.
SFC Lane is married and they have three children, and three grandchildren.
