LTC Sarah Gilbert

Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Gilbert assumed command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Carson in June 2022. 

LTC Gilbert graduated from the University of Missouri and was commissioned in 2004 in the Quartermaster Corps. She was assigned to Fort Carson, Colorado, where she served as a platoon leader, company executive officer and assistant operations officer, deploying to Iraq with the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. Following the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, she was assigned to Fort Drum, New York, and served as a battalion logistics officer and Forward Support Company commander with 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, in Afghanistan. After command, she served as an assistant professor of military science at Loyola University, Maryland, and a brigade exercise planner at Fort Hood, Texas, with the 120th Infantry Brigade, First U.S. Army West. Following the Command and General Staff Officer Course, LTC Gilbert was assigned to Fort Carson. She served as the brigade logistics officer and the 64th Brigade Support Battalion executive officer with the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, deploying to Kuwait and Poland. LTC Gilbert then served as a logistics lieutenant colonels’ career manager at the Army Human Resources Command. Most recently, she completed a joint assignment at the Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Her military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, the Support Operations Course and the Command and General Staff College.

LTC Gilbert's civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in business and a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from the University of Missouri. She has a Master of Science in supply chain management from the University of Kansas.

Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, the Iraq Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral two, the NATO Service Medal and the Combat Action Badge.

   LTC Gilbert has three children.
