LTC Sean R. Wilson

Commander

Lieutenant Colonel Sean R. Wilson assumed the duties of Commander of the Army Field Support Battalion-Campbell, 18 June 2019. LTC Wilson was born in Missoula, Montana. LTC Wilson graduated from the University of Montana in 2000.

Receiving his commission from the ROTC program, LTC Wilson entered active duty as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps. Following Officer Basic Course, his first assignment was with the 27th Main Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division as a Heavy Equipment Truck Transport (HETT) Platoon Leader, and later as a Light/Medium Truck Platoon Leader and Transportation Company Executive Officer. In 2004, LTC Wilson deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Support Operations, Transportation Officer where he later assumed command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company. Upon redeployment, LTC Wilson was reassigned as the Commander of the Butte Recruiting Company, Salt Lake Recruiting Battalion, where he was responsible for Active Duty and Reserve recruiting for the majority of the state of Montana. Upon completion of his second command, LTC Wilson was assigned to the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Force Sustainment Division, to serve as the Transportation Corps LT/CPT Assignment Officer. From there, LTC Wilson was selected as a US Army Interagency Fellow where he worked as the Desk Officer for Columbia and Cuba in US Agency for International Development (USAID), in the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance. Subsequently, LTC Wilson was reassigned and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Support Operations Officer for 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division and later as the Brigade S4. LTC Wilson’s next assignment was to HQDA G-3/5/7 where he served as the Executive Officer to the Director of Training. He was later assigned to the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army as the Senior Staff Action Officer for the Special Access Program Coordination Office. From this position, LTC Wilson was again deployed, this time as the Senior Joint Logistics Advisor to the G4 and J4, of the Ministry of Defense in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. LTC Wilson’s last assignment, prior to Battalion Command was as the Chief of Operations Integration Branch, Deputy Director of Global Operations, Joint Staff, J-39. LTC Wilson’s education included: Transportation Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Command and General Staff College, Support Operations Course, Transportation and Storage of HAZMAT, Joint and Combined Warfare School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.

LTC Wilson’s awards and decorations include the: Bronze Star Medal (2OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal(2OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation (OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award(OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO ISAF Medal, Combat Action Badge, Army Staff Badge, and Army Recruiter Badge. 

LTC Wilson is married and they have two children.
