MSG Brandy Mitchell

Senior Enlisted Advisor

Master Sergeant Brandy Mitchell assumed the duties as senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion-Carson October 2020.

 

She entered the U.S. Army in July 2002. She completed Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, as a 91F, Small Arms repairer.

 

MSG Mitchell’s assignments and duty positions include: small arms repairer and armament shop foreman, 632nd Support Maintenance Company, 87th Corps Support
Battalion, Fort Stewart, Georgia, including two tours to Iraq; armament shop noncommissioned officer in charge, 536th Maintenance Company, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, including one tour to Iraq; drill sergeant, Foxtrot Company, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; senior instructor/writer and platoon sergeant at the Armament and Electronics Training Department, Echo Company, 832nd Ordnance Battalion, 59th Ordnance Brigade, Fort Lee, Virginia; battalion motor sergeant and senior maintenance supervisor, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; first sergeant, 24th Composite Supply Company, 13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington; battalion operations sergeant major, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, JBLM.

 

MSG Mitchell’s military education includes: Primary Leadership Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Senior Leadership Course, Combatives Level 1 and 2 Courses, Total Army Instructor Training Course, U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Master Resilience Training Course, Airborne Course, Army Basis Instructor Training, Cadre Training Course, Systems Approach to Training Basic Course, Small Group instructor Basic Course, Global Combat Support Systems-Army Maintenance Manager Course, First Sergeant’s Course and Battle Staff NCO Course. She has an associate degree in general studies from Central Texas College and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business management at American Military University.

 

MSG Mitchell’s awards and decorations include: four Meritorious Service Medals, the Army Commendation Medal (1 Silver Leaf and 1 Oak Leaf Cluster), three Army Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal (3 Campaign Stars), the Global War on Terrorism Service & Expeditionary Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Driver’s Badge, and the Marksmanship badge. MSG Mitchell is a recipient of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe.

 

MSG Mitchell is a native of Marshalltown, Iowa. She is married and has two daughters.
