Sergeant Major Brian E. Diggs assumed the duties senior enlisted advisor of Army Field Support Battalion-Hood, November 2019. He is a native of Topeka, Kansas and enlisted in the Kansas National Guard on 19 Aug 1993 as a Motor Transport Operator (88M); he later joined the Active duty service on 15 Mar 1995. He attended basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. SGM Diggs has served in every leadership position from squad leader to Operations Sergeant Major. His stateside assignments include Fort Carson, Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Bliss, and Fort Hood. Overseas assignments include Hawaii and Korea. SGM Diggs operational deployments include Iraq and Afghanistan.
SGM Diggs military education includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic NCO course, Senior Leaders Course, Drill Sergeant School, Master Resilience Trainer course, Anti-terrorism level 1 and 2, Observer Controller course and the USASMA. His civilian education includes an Associate’s Degree from Pikes Peak Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Excelsior College.
SGM Diggs has received several awards and decorations throughout his career including the Bronze Star (2nd award), the Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), the Army Commendation medal (4th award), the Drill Sergeant badge, and the Combat Action badge.
SGM Diggs is married and they have 2 sons.
