Command Sergeant Major Timothy D. Walton assumed duties as command sergeant major of the 404th Army Field Support Brigade August 2022.
He most recently served as the senior observer, coach/trainer and command sergeant major for the 3rd Battalion, 409th Brigade Support Battalion at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
CSM Walton enlisted in the Army in July 1999 as an 88M (motor transport operator). He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He has served as a squad leader, recruiter, platoon sergeant, truck master, transportation supervisor, first sergeant, and battalion command sergeant major.
His stateside assignments include: 58th Transportation Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood; 360th Transportation Company, Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Smith Recruiting Company, Oklahoma City Recruiting Battalion, Oklahoma; A Company, 626th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 42nd Military Police Brigade, and 523rd Composite Truck Company, 13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
CSM Walton’s overseas assignments include B Company, 702nd Main Support Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea, and the 498th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion at Camp Carroll, Korea. He has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of combat operations.
CSM Walton's military education includes: the Basic Leader Course, the Army Instructor Course, the Advanced Leader Course, the Army Equal Opportunity Leader Course, the Army Recruiter School, the Senior Leader Course, the First Sergeant Course, the Master Resilience Trainer course, the Battle Staff Course, and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 68).
His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College and a master’s degree in leadership studies from the University of Texas-El Paso.
CSM Walton's awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal (2nd award), the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), the Army Commendation medal w/V Device, the Army Commendation medal (5th award), the Army Achievement Medal (8th award), the Gold Recruiter Badge (3rd Sapphire), the Combat Action Badge, and the Driver’s Badge (Wheel). He is also a member of the Order of Saint Christopher.
CSM Walton is a native of Elmore, Minnesota. He is married and has three children.
