Lieutenant Colonel Linwood R. Hilton assumed command of the U.S. Army Field Support Battalion-Drum, June 2020. He was raised in Norfolk, Virginia.
He was commissioned in 2001 as a Second Lieutenant, Ordnance Officer through Morgan State University’s ROTC program in Baltimore, Maryland where he also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. LTC Hilton was later branched Logistics after completing the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course.
LTC Hilton’s previous command assignments include Supply Support Activity (SSA) Platoon Leader, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Platoon Leader and Detachment Commander in 77th Maintenance Company, 485th Corps Support Battalion, Germany from 2001-2004 with service in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF); Company Commander, F Company, 2-12 CAV, 1st Cavalry Division with service in OIF and later F Company, 1-77, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas from 2006-2008.

LTC Hilton holds a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University, Michigan. He is also a graduate of Command and General Staff College and the Ordnance Basic Course.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (2OLC); the Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC); the Army Commendation Medal (3OLC); Army Achievement Medal (5OLC); the Combat Action Badge, and the Army Staff Badge. He is also a recipient of the Honorable Order of Samuel Sharpe.
LTC Hilton has two children.
