LTC Daniel Azzone

Commander

Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Azzone assumed the duties of commander at the Army Field Support Battalion-Bliss in August 2022.

LTC Azzone received his commission in 2001 as a quartermaster officer from the University of Mississippi Reserve Officers' Training Corps program. His assignments include: rigger platoon leader, 5th Quartermaster Company (Aerial Support), 191st Ordnance Battalion; executive officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 29th Support Group, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Kaiserslautern, Germany; S1 and S4, 39th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control), 1st Theater Movement Control Agency, 21st TSC, Kaiserslautern; Military Transition Team logistics advisor to the 1st Mechanized Brigade, 9th Iraqi Armored Division, Iraqi Assistance Group, Taji, Iraq Operation Iraqi Freedom; executive officer, Group Support Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Support Detachment commander and S4, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg and Kandahar, Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom; Operations officer, XVIII Airborne Corps G4, Fort Bragg; general supply officer, U.S. Forces Iraq J4, Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq, Al Asad Airbase, Iraq, and Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Operation New Dawn; Support Operations officer and executive officer, 47th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas; Security Cooperation officer and executive officer to the senior defense official/defense attaché, Office of Military Cooperation, U.S. Embassy, Cairo, Egypt; chief of Current Operations, G3 and chief, Materiel Management Branch, Distribution Management Center, 21st TSC, Panzer Kaserne, Kaiserslautern.

LTC Azzone’s military education includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, and the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course.

His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science in supply chain management from the University of Kansas.

LTC Azzone’s awards and decorations include: two Bronze Star Medals, the Defense Meritorious Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 5), the Combat Action Badge, the Parachute Rigger Badge, the Basic Parachutist Badge, the German Parachutist Badge, and the Irish Parachutist Badge.

LTC Azzone is a native of Richland, Mississippi. He is married and has two children.
