COL Fredericka R. Harris


Colonel Fredericka R. Harris assumed command of the 406th Army Field Support Brigade July 2020.  


COL Harris’ assignments include: platoon leader and accountable officer in the 544th Maintenance Battalion; assistant group S1 for the 64th Corps Support Group and assistant secretary to the general staff for the 13th Corps Support Command, Fort Hood, Texas. Following her assignment at Fort Hood and graduating from the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, she was assigned as the general supply officer at the 1st Armored Division Support Command in Wiesbaden, Germany, followed by Battalion S4 for the 123rd Main Support Battalion in Dexheim, Germany, and company commander for Alpha Company, 123rd Main Support Battalion, 1st Armored Division Support Command Baghdad International Airport, Iraq.  Subsequent assignments include: joint logistics officer, Joint Task Force-Civil Support at Fort Monroe, Virgina; U.S. Army Central G4 deputy chief of operations, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; chief of operations, 382nd Theater Opening Element, Special Troops Battalion, Kabul, Afghanistan; battalion executive officer and S3, 10th Transportation Battalion, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia; executive officer for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command capability manager, Sustainment MC/Enterprise Systems Directorate, Fort Lee, Virginia; executive officer to the Combined Arms Suppport Command commanding general, Fort Lee, Virginia; battalion commander, Army Field Support Battalion-Campbell, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; U.S. Army Materiel Command commanding general strategic plans officer, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; support operations officer, 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.


COL Harris’ service schools and education include Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Homeland Security Planning Course, Support Operations Phase I/II, Joint Planners Course, Command and General Staff College, Army Force Management School, Joint Forces Staff College, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.


COL Harris is a distinguished military graduate of Saint Augustine’s University ROTC Program in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and received her commission into the Army as a quartermaster officer in 1997. She also holds a master’s degree in logistics management from Florida Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in national security and resource strategy from National Defense University.


Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, six Meritorious Service Medals, five Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal, two National Defense Service Medals, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization-International Security Assistance Force Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Airborne Badge, and the Parachute Rigger Badge.


COL Harris is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is married and has two adult children and two grandsons.
