MSG Gregory A. Rettig Jr.

Senior Enlisted Advisor

Master Sergeant Gregory A. Rettig Jr. assumed responsibility of the Army Field Support Battalion-Bragg in August 2022. 

MSG Rettig’s most recently served as the command sergeant major for the 407th Brigade Support Battalion at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He entered the U.S. Army on Aug. 11, 2005, as a transportation management coordinator, MOS 88N. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

MSG Rettig’s assignments include: armorer for the 6th Transportation Battalion, Fort Eustis; movements noncommissioned officer for the 7th Transportation Battalion, Fort Bragg; movements supervisor for the 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg; platoon sergeant for the 3rd SFG, Fort Bragg; Truck Master for the 3rd SFG, Fort Bragg; senior movements NCO for the 3rd SFG, Fort Bragg; Special Operations Forces Movements and Sustainment Cell NCOIC for the Special Operations Command-Africa, in Stuttgart, Germany; Logistics Operations and Plans NCOIC for SOCAF, Stuttgart; chief movements supervisor, SOCAF, Stuttgart; transportation supervisor for the 330thTransportation Battalion, Fort Bragg; first sergeant for the 403rd Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 330th Transportation Battalion, Fort Bragg; command sergeant major for the 330th Transportation Battalion (Rear) (Provisional); and command sergeant major for the 407th Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Bragg.

MSG Rettig has deployed four times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.

MSG Rettig’s military schools and education include: Air Movement Operations Course, U.S. Air Force Airlift Planner Course, AALPS Course, JOPES Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Sling Load Inspector Course, Joint Logistics Course, Safety NCO/Officer Course, TC-AIMS II Unit Movement Course, SOC Jumpmaster Course, JOPES Action Officer Course, Support Operations PH II Course, Company Commander / First Sergeant Course. He has completed all levels of the NCOPDS and is a graduate of the Sergeants Major Course, Class 72.

MSG Rettig holds a bachelor’s degree in business management, with a concentration in leadership, from the American Military University.
