Mr. Charles K. Song

Deputy to the Commander

Mr. Charles K. Song assumed the duties of Deputy to the Commander September 2018.  He was born in WaeGwan, Korea. In 1976, his family emigrated to Hawaii; where he enlisted in the Army in 1977 as a Mechanic.

Mr. Song’s assignments include E 333 FA in Fort Lewis, WA; 194th MT BN, Korea; Direct Support (DS) Shop NCOIC for B CO 1st FSB, WA; F CO 702d MSB, Korea; A BTRY 1/4 ADA in Fort Lewis, WA; 555th MT CO, Germany; and AIT instructor for 610th OD BN, VA. Upon appointment as Warrant Officer in 1991, Mr. Song served in various positions to include Platoon Leader, DS shop OIC, and SSA Accountable Officer for 82nd CSE, Korea; DS OIC for 724th MSB, GA; SPO Maint. Officer for 703rd MSB, GA; DS OIC and Platoon Leader for 17th CSB and 84th EN BN, HI; DS OIC for 61st MT CO, Korea; DPW Environmental Engineer for USAG-Hawaii; G4 Command Maintenance Evaluation Team (COMET) Chief for 25ID, HI; and the Joint Logistics Command (JLC) Project Officer for CJTF in Afghanistan.   

Mr. Song retired in 2006 as CW4 - after more than 29 years of faithful service, and served as DOL Maintenance Division Chief, Schofield Barracks, HI for 2 1/2 years; 19th ESC Support Operations LMS for 1 & 1/2 years, 403rd AFSB SPO LMS for 3 years; AFSBn-Hawaii SPO LMS, 94th AAMDC BLST Chief, BN S-4, Force MOD officer, and Hawaii Pre-deployment Training Equipment (PDTE) site COR for 2 years; AFSBn-Korea Chief of Support Operation Center (SOC) for 17 months; and 403d AFSB ALT Chief for 21 months.  In June 2018, Mr. Song received 40 years Federal Service Certificate and a lapel pin from ASC CG.  

Mr. Song’s military educations include Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC), Warrant Officer Technical and Tactical Certification Course (WOTTC), Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course (ANOC), and BNOC.  Mr. Song’s civilian educations include a Bachelor’s of Science from Excelsior College, Master of Business Administration (MBA) study with Hawaii Pacific University, and MBA degree from the University of Phoenix.  Mr. Song is a graduate of Advanced CES, Army Acquisition Corps (AAC) member, and holds Senior Level-III Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) certification and Level-II COR certification. 

Mr. Song’s military awards and decorations include Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (4 OLC), National Defense Service Medal (2 OLC), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal (4 OLC), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3 OLC), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (8 OLC), Mechanics Badge, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.   

Mr. Song’s civilian awards and achievements include Superior Civilian Service Medal, Commander’s Service Medal (2), Commander’s Achievement Medal, ASC CG’s Highly Productive Achievement Award, ASC Field Support Director’s COA, three (3) QSIs, numerous time-off and cash awards, and numerous Certificate of Achievements and Appreciations.

Mr. Song is married and they have three children.
