Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Major Kofie Bernard Primus assumed responsibility of the 405th Army Field Support Brigade on December 3, 2020. Prior to this assignment, CSM
Primus served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 426th Brigade Support Battalion “Taskmasters”, 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne”, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

CSM Primus, a native of Trinidad and Tobago, enlisted into the United States Army in September 1999 as a 45T Bradley Fighting Vehicle Turret Mechanic and attended
Basic Training and Advance Individual Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

His previous assignments include: Senior Maintenance Supervisor, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii; First Sergeant, Echo Forward Support

CSM Primus deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I and VII, Operation Enduring Freedom (Consolidation III), Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and Operation Inherent Resolve.

His military education includes United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Nonresident Course Class 44, Brigade and Battalion Pre-Command Course, Master Leaders Course, Battle Staff Course, Company Commander/First Sergeant Course, Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Basic Leaders Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, and the Air Assault Course.

CSM Primus’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal with “C” device, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, Iraq Campaign Medal with three Campaign Stars, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal with one Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5), and the NATO Medal. His badges include the Drivers Badge (W), Mechanic Badge, the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Air Assault Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Silver).

CSM Primus holds a Master’s of Science and Leadership (Cum Laude Graduate), Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude Graduate) from Trident University International. He also holds a certification as a Master Logistician from the International Society of Logistics. CSM Primus is also a member of the prestige Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and the Honorable Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe
