She entered the U.S. Army on March 14, 1994, as an automated logistical specialist, MOS 92A. She completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and
Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. CSM Terrell’s most recent assignment was serving as the battalion command sergeant major for the 10th Brigade Support Battalion at Fort Drum, New York.

CSM Terrell’s military schools and education includes the Air Assault course, Inspector General Course, First Sergeant Course. She has completed all levels of the NCOES and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 67.
CSM Terrell has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in human resource management and an Associate of Arts from Columbia Southern University. She also has a Master of Business Administration in human resource management from CSU.
CSM Terrell’s awards and decorations include eight Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), the National Defense Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), the Afghan Campaign Medal (1 Bronze Star), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Stars), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 4), the NATO Medal-ISAF, and the Air Assault Badge. She is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
CSM Terrell has deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
