Command Sgt. Maj. Dejarius O. Jones assumed duties as the command sergeant major of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade in May 2022.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army for active duty in October 1996. He reported to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, to engage in Basic Combat Training and Advance Individual Training where he earned his MOS, 91B, Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. Upon graduation of AIT he reported to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as a mechanic in Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, Division Artillery, 25th Infantry Division (L).
In December 2000, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served as senior mechanic, shop foreman, and platoon sergeant. He deployed with the 325th AIR in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003-2004. He was then assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, from 2005 to 2008 and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He then held several leadership roles to include first sergeant for the 54th Forward Support Company, 18th Fires Brigade at Fort Bragg (2010-2011); B Company, 188th Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Bragg (2011-2012); the Intelligence and Sustainment Company (Bravo), HHBn, 82nd AD, Fort Bragg (2012-2014) with a deployment to Afghanistan; and the XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg NCO Academy (2014-2015). CSM Jones later served as department sergeant major, Wheeled Maintenance Training Department, U.S. Army Ordnance School, Fort Lee, Virginia (2016-2017); command sergeant major, 832nd Ordnance Battalion (2017-2019), Fort Lee; and command sergeant major, 528th Sustainment Brigade (Special Operations) (Airborne), 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne), Fort Bragg.
CSM Jones’ military education includes: the Airborne School, the Air Assault School, the Jumpmaster Course, the Pathfinder Course, the Equal Opportunity Leader Course, and the Master Resiliency Course. He has attended all phases of the NCOPD system to include the Sergeants Major Course (Class 66).
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama, and a Doctorate degree from the University of Miami.

CSM Jones is also a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
CSM Jones is a native of Miami, Florida. He is married and has two children.
