MG Christopher O. Mohan

Commanding General

Major General Christopher O. Mohan assumed command of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command June 15, 2021.

Prior to that, MG Mohan had been commanding general of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command since July 31, 2019. 

MG Mohan’s command assignments include: 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Tooele Army Depot, Tooele, Utah; 80th Ordnance Battalion, 593rd Sustainment Brigade, I Corps, Fort Lewis, Washington, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq; Alpha Forward Support Company (Airborne), U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan; 664th Ordnance Company, 553rd Corps Support Battalion, 64th Support Group (Corps), III Corps, Fort Hood, Texas. 

Other significant assignments include: deputy chief of staff for operations logistics, G-3, U.S. Army Materiel Command; director, strategic logistics integration(G-45/7), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.; executive officer to the deputy chief of staff, G-4, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.; executive officer to the commander, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; joint logistics plans officer, J-4, Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and deputy logistics operations officer, Special Operations Support Command (Airborne), U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

MG Mohan has deployed in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and has completed multiple deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

His military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, the Naval College of Command and Staff, and the Army War College. He holds a Master of Science degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College and a master’s degree in military strategy from the Army War College.     

He commissioned into the U.S. Army in 1989 from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice.

His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, four Legions of Merit, four Bronze Star Medals, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal and Meritorious Unit Citation, the Master Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Ranger Tab, the German Parachutist Badge and the Army Staff Identification Badge.

MG Mohan is a native of Carthage, North Carolina. He is married and has three children.
