COL Lisa A. Villarreal Rennard

Commander

Colonel Lisa A. Villarreal Rennard assumed the duties as commander of the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade in June 2021.

COL Rennard came to the 403rd AFSB from the Pentagon, where she served as the military assistant to the assistant secretary of defense for sustainment. 

She was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps in May 1998. Her first duty assignment was Fort Hood, Texas, where she served in various positions including group S2 with the 64th Corps Support Group, platoon leader with the 190th Maintenance Company, shop officer/executive officer with the 597th Maintenance Company, and culminated as the 544th Maintenance Battalion S4.    

Upon graduation from the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course and the Combined Arms and Service Staff School, she served as the brigade S4 officer for the 23rd Area Support Group at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Following that assignment, she was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Armored Division Support Command in Wiesbaden, Germany, as the maintenance management officer focused on brigade combat team readiness for the Division Materiel Management Center. Several months later, she took command of Delta Company, 123rd Main Support Battalion, where she served for 22 months. This assignment culminated while serving as the division G4 maintenance officer and deployed with the division to Tikrit, Iraq, for 15 months. During her deployment, she assumed the duties as the division G4 supply & services officer. Her next assignment was serving as the executive officer to the U.S. Army Europe G4 in Heidelberg, Germany. After completing the Command & General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, in June 2011, she was assigned to Fort Carson, Colorado, and completed her field grade key development positions as the brigade S4 officer and support operations officer for the 43rd Sustainment Brigade. Following her assignment at Fort Carson, COL Rennard served a joint duty assignment with the U.S. Cyber Command at Fort Meade, Maryland, as the deputy J39 and special access programs control officer for the command. Following Fort Meade, she took command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Northeast Asia at Camp Carroll, South Korea, before serving as the assistant executive officer to the commanding general for the U.S. Army Materiel Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

Her civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston, a Master of Arts degree in international relations from Webster University, and a Master of Science degree in national security and resource strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School, National Defense University.

COL Rennard’s military awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, the Valorous Unit Award, as well as various campaign and service awards.  

COL Rennard is a native of Houston, Texas. She is married and has two children.
