MSG George Barker

Senior Enlisted Advisor

Master Sergeant George A. Barker IV assumed responsibility as the senior enlisted advisor for the Army Field Support Battalion-Mannheim on July 1, 2021.

MSG Barker joined the military on Sept. 6, 2002. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After completing basic training, MSG Barker attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he was certified as a 68G, patient administration specialist. In 2007 MSG Barker re-classed from the medical field into Army logistics where he was certified as a 92Y, unit supply specialist. MSG Barker’s previous duty assignments are patient administration specialist serving at Tripler Army Medical Center, section Noncommissioned Officer In Charge, while assigned with 1101st Garrison Support Unit, Schofield barracks, Hawaii;  supply sergeant as well as senior supply sergeant while serving in the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; security force assistance instructor /trainer while serving as team NCOIC in 3rd Battalion, 353rd Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana; observer/controller trainer in Task Force Live Fires “Peason Ridge” while serving in Operations Group, Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk; Property Book Office NCOIC, as well as the Support Operations NCOIC while serving in the 405th Army Field Support Brigade, Germany.

MSG Barker has three combat deployments to Iraq.

His military schools include: Structured Self Development 1-4, Combatives level I, Technical Transportation of Hazmat, Master Fitness Trainer, Master Resilience Trainer, Support Operations Phase I and II, Battle Staff, Master Leaders Course, Basic Instructor, Observer/ Controller Trainer, and the Company Commander/First Sergeant Course.

MSG Barkers awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, seven Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals, the Iraq Campaign Medal-silver star, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service medal, and the Combat Medic Badge.

MSG Barker was born and Raised in San Diego, California. MSG Barker is married and has one child.
