Master Sergeant James A. Jett Jr. assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion - Southwest Asia in February 2024.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1992. He attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland, graduating as a 63W, wheel vehicle mechanic, followed by H8 Wheeled Recovery Course at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. He is in the Army Reserve, normally assigned to Army Reserve Sustainment Command as the G4 (Logistics) noncommissioned officer in charge and command maintenance NCO.
MSG Jett's previous assignments and duty positions also include Support Operations NCOIC and maintenance NCO, 401st Army Field Support Battalion-Afghanistan; G4 NCOIC and command mechanical maintenance supervisor, ARSC; maintenance control NCO, 926th Forward Support Company; Support Operations maintenance NCO, 787th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion; tactical safety NCO, U.S. Forces Command; detachment sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 357th Corp Support Battalion; and Recovery Section NCOIC, 587th Collection and Classification Company. His deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom (Spartan Shield).
MSG Jett's military and civilian education include Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officer Course, Master Leaders Course, Security Force Assistance Course, Global Support Combat System-Army Maintenance Supervisor Course, Civilian Leader Basic, Maintenance Inspector Certification Course, Additional Duty Safety Officer, Collateral Duty Safety Officer Course, Managers Safety Course, Combat Safety Officers Course, Commander's Safety Course, Action Officers Development Course, Track Vehicle Recovery Course, Wheeled Vehicle Recovery Course, Wheel Vehicle Repairer, Primary Leadership Development Course, Tracked Vehicle Mechanic Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Ordnance Senior Leaders Course, 81st Readiness Division Physical Security Training, and Supervisor Development Course. MSG Jett currently holds a Class A commercial driver’s license in the state of Alabama with boat and motorcycle endorsement.

MSG Jett was born in Kennesaw and raised in Duluth, both in Georgia. He is married and has seven children.
