Lieutenant Colonel Travis S. Drayton assumed command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Bliss on June 11, 2024.

He most recently served as the executive officer of the 82nd Airborne Division, Sustainment Brigade, Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

LTC Drayton’s previous assignments include: floating causeway platoon leader, 331st Transportation Company, 24th Transportation Battalion, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia; detachment commander, 491st Automated Cargo Documentation Detachment, 24th Transportation Battalion, JBLE; executive officer, 169th Cargo Transfer Company and S3 (Operations) training officer, 24th Trans BN, JBLE; logistics advisor, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas; battalion S3 officer and commander, Delta Company, 3rd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; mobility officer, Distribution Management Center, U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois; Supply & Services officer-in-charge and chief, Distribution Integration Branch, 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade, Fort Hood (known as Fort Cavazos since 2023), Texas; battalion Support Operations officer and executive officer, 553rd Division Sustainment Support Battalion, Fort Hood; sustainment observer coach/trainer, Mission Command Training Program, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; and director of logistics, Area Support Group-Kuwait, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

He has deployed to Iraq and Kuwait.

LTC Drayton’s military education includes the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, and the Command and General Staff College.

He commissioned from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, as a Transportation officer in 2004 and holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the College of Charleston as well as a Master of Arts in transportation and logistics management.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, four Meritorious Service Medals, Navy Achievement Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, and the Combat Action Badge.

LTC Drayton has two children.
