The Army Sustainment Command (ASC) is the logistics arm of the Army Materiel Command (AMC) that provides our warfighters with everything they need to defend our Nation and our Allies. America’s Soldiers need ammunition, equipment, food, uniforms, and so much more to fight and win on the battlefield or respond to natural disasters. ASC makes sure they get these supplies when and where they are needed.
ASC was established as the logistics integrator for contingency and sustainment support of American fighting forces worldwide. By harnessing and delivering the vast capabilities of Army Materiel Command and America’s industrial and technical base, ASC streamlines and accelerates logistics support to commanders and troops in the field. ASC provides Combat Service Support capability to Soldiers serving in Combat Commands in the continental United States and overseas to ensure expeditionary war-fighting readiness and leverage national logistics to sustain a transforming Army at war.
ASC is headquartered at Rock Island Arsenal with a footprint in over 20 countries and 32 states. The forward-facing component of ASC includes its seven Army Field Support Brigades, five Army Propositioned Stock sites, 22 Army Field Support Battalions and Logistics Readiness Centers at 82 locations worldwide. ASC’s manpower footprint, as of February 2025, included over 45,000 Civilian, Military, and Contracted personnel.
Utilizing these resources, ASC is tasked with maintaining equipment, providing technical support, and restoring equipment to like-new condition. ASC also offers many day-to-day services to our Soldiers. These services include dining facilities, uniform issues, laundry, transportation, lodging, and more. Wherever there are Soldiers, ASC is there with them – “On the Line!”
