During a visit to the Army Sustainment Command--Redstone Arsenal Detachment on March 5, Matthew Sannito, Executive Director for Support Operations, ASC, presented several awards and commendations. Gen. Gus Perna, commanding general, U.S. Army Materiel Command, discussed the synchronization of the Army materiel enterprise during a second-quarter update with leaders at the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, here, Feb. 26. Sgt. 1st Class Linda Hermesmeyer, operations NCO for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command Headquarters Command Group, is the newest member of the Rock Island Arsenal Chapter of the Sgt. Audie Murphy Club. The U.S. Army Sustainment Command recently hosted two iterations of the Civilian Education System Advanced Course conducted by the Army Management Staff College here. This was the first time the course was hosted by ASC and held at RIA. The 405th Army Field Support Brigade led a predeployment site survey at three of its Army Prepositioned Stock sites in support of U.S. Army Europe's mission readiness, Feb. 4-8. Army Field Support Battalion-Mannheim set up an equipment configuration handling area to receive and set up equipment transfer from the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, in support of Atlantic Resolve here Jan. 28 to Feb. ASC G-1 kicked off its first “Choose to Lose” challenge on January 10.
RIA senior leader meets Redstone Arsenal Detachment for first time

ASC Choose to Lose Challenge Video

ASC G-1 Wellness Division started its first “Choose to Lose” challenge January 10. Participants joined either as a team or as individuals, and have received a food and fitness journal to assist with tracking their progress. The challenge will extend through April 18. Click here for the video.
