We are Army Sustainment Command

Army Sustainment Command (ASC) provides globally responsive strategic logistics capabilities and materiel readiness to enable Combatant Commanders to conduct the full range of military operations. ASC is the Army Materiel Command's (AMC) single face to the field and synchronizes and executes logistics. ASC is the Army materiel enterprise’s decisive edge generating sustainment readiness from the strategic support area to the tactical point of need.

It didn’t take Jennifer Zaldivar very long to make her mark at Redstone Arsenal. She has only been with Logistics Readiness Center Redstone, located in Huntsville, Ala., as a transportation specialist since the end of January and already has been named Army Materiel Command Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of fiscal year 2023.
In the complex landscape of U.S. Army Sustainment Command’s logistics infrastructure, Logistics Readiness Centers play a pivotal role in managing materiel and support services to U.S. Army units. From ammunition management to equipment maintenance, and hazardous materials operations to bulk fuel, each LRC's unique mission requires careful analysis. Sarah Nadermann, a management analyst and senior technical subject matter expert in ASC’s G8 (Resource Management) Manpower Management Division, is at the forefront of optimizing these essential LRCs.
At the 407th Army Field Support Brigade “Support the Soldier” is more than just its motto; it’s a call to action. Army Civilian Casandra Smith has left an indelible mark on the “Mighty 407th” brigade and widely across the U.S. Army. Smith has served with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command and its related units since 2003 to the present – for 20 years – and is currently the management support analyst, working 12 years with the brigade.
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Dennis Harris has a clear mission: ensure that the essential information technology systems used by U.S. Army Sustainment Command are readily available to the Soldiers, Civilians, and contractors on the ground who rely on them.
In 2004, Congress declared that October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, to make both public and private entities aware of the need for cybersecurity. This year’s theme is “Secure our World.”
Getting good employees is still a struggle for many organizations, even though most pandemic-related job openings have been filled. The reasons vary, of course, but among them are lack of skills, stiff competition from other companies, and an attitude change among workers who want better pay and benefits, a more balanced work-life situation, and an organization that they feel truly values them as a person.
ln honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Department of Defense personnel are recognized for their excellence and rich, unique culture. In doing so, like all observances, a greater understanding and appreciation is offered to the workforce of the people with whom they serve. National Hispanic Heritage Month is from Sept. 15 - Oct. 15. This year’s theme is “Todos Somos, Somos Uno: We Are All, We Are One.”
One of Army’s most famous noncommissioned officers who has helped Soldiers for decades will be inducted into the Ordnance Corps’ Hall of Fame class of 2024. Master Sgt. Half-Mast McCanick, known to many as the preventive maintenance and supply subject-matter expert in “PS Magazine”, will be inducted into the Historical Category. The induction ceremony is slated for May 2024.
For every suicide, 135 lives are profoundly affected by the loss. This sobering statistic underscores the importance of addressing a heavy but necessary topic during September, which is Suicide Prevention Month. While many are familiar with the resources available for suicide prevention, a lesser-known subject is what's available and how to assist those coping with the loss of a family member, friend or coworker that has died by suicide.
