Sergeant Major Randolph E. Leyba assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the 405th Army Field Support Battalion-Germany in June 2022.

SGM Leyba was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He entered into the U.S. Army, Feb. 6, 2000, as a 63B (Wheel Vehicle Mechanic). He attended Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

SGM Leyba’s duty assignments consist of Headquarters, U.S. Army Materiel Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Headquarters and Headquarters Company and Echo Company, 426th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, and Intelligence and Sustainment Company, U.S. Army Africa, Vicenza, Italy; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Brigade Combat Team, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Bravo Company, 296th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Washington; Albuquerque Recruiting Company, Phoenix Recruiting Battalion, 5th Recruiting Brigade, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 47th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder Germany; Charlie Company, 2nd Forward Support Battalion, Division Command, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Hovey, Korea; Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 546th Personnel Services Battalion, III Corps, Fort Hood (known as Fort Cavazos since 2023), Texas.

His duty positions consist of senior enlisted advisor, executive officer, first sergeant, Logistics noncommissioned officer, mechanical maintenance operations NCO, inspector general NCO, forward logistical element NCO, senior maintenance supervisor, battalion motor sergeant, platoon sergeant, recruiter, company motor sergeant, squad leader, and team leader.

SGM Leyba has been deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2004, 2009-2010, and Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan 2011-2012.

His military education includes the Sergeants Major Academy class 72/Distant Learning course class 48 (Commandant’s List), Advance Noncommissioned Officers Course (Commandant’s List), Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (Distinguished Honor Grad), Primary Leadership Development Course (Commandant’s List), Demonstrated Master Logistician Program, Support Operations Course Phase 2, Company Commander/First Sergeant, Battle Staff (Commandant’s List), Command Post of the Future Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Inspector General Course, Combatives Level One, Army Recruiter School, Individual Readiness Training Course, Air Assault School, Combat Lifesaver Course, and Wheel Vehicle Recover Course.

His civilian education includes a high School diploma, an associate degree in general studies, University of Phoenix; a Bachelor of Science in management, University of Phoenix; and is working toward his Master in Business Administration, University of Phoenix.

He is married and has two daughters.
