 Mission

The 279th Army Field Support Brigade is assigned to the Alabama National Guard under the 167th Theater Sustainment Command, providing theater sustainment logistics; synchronizing acquisition, logistics, and technology; and leveraging the U.S. Army Materiel Command’s Materiel Enterprise to support joint forces during training, exercises and state Defense Support to Civilian Authorities events. On mobilization, the 279th AFSB is assigned to U.S. Army Sustainment Command and synchronizes and integrates AMC strategic capabilities in support of U.S. Northern Command and U.S. Southern Command.
