Lieutenant Colonel Andrew S. Horn assumed command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Kuwait on June 18, 2024.
He most recently served as a joint sustainment planner for Joint Enabling Capabilities Command, Joint Planning Support Element, U.S. Transportation Command at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.
Previous assignments include executive officer and platoon leader for the 574th Quartermaster Support Company, 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Grafenwöhr, Germany; commander of the 63rd Ordnance Company, 13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; logistics operations officer and Battalion S4 (Logistics) for the 4th Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment; G4 (Logistics) Transportation Officer for I Corps at JBLM; supply and sustainment chief, G4 for the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; brigade support operations officer and Brigade S4 for the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Inf Div, Schofield Barracks; and executive officer to the commanding general, 8th Theater Sustainment Command at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
LTC Horn forward deployed to Iraq with the 574th QM Spt Co, 18th CSSB, and to Afghanistan and Iraq with the 4th Bn, 160th Special Ops Avn Regt.
His military education includes Airborne School, Air Assault School, Support Operations Officer Course, Joint Professional Military Education Phase II, Joint Humanitarian Operations Course, NATO Comprehensive Operations Planning Course, Defense Support of Civil Authorities Phase II, Joint Logistics Course, Command and General Staff College, Logistics Captains Career Course, and Quartermaster Officer Basic Course.
He received his commission as a Quartermaster officer from Pacific Lutheran University in 2006. LTC Horn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Science in supply chain management from the University of Kansas.
LTC Horn’s awards and decorations include one Bronze Star Medal, one Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, two Joint Service Achievement Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Irish Parachutist Badge, and the Canadian Parachutist Badge.
