LTC Jacob V. Jones



Lieutenant Colonel Jacob “Jake” V. Jones assumed command of Army Field Support Battalion-Kuwait in June 2023.

LTC Jones most recently served as the chief of Support for the Command Assessment Program, Army Talent Management Task Force. He received his commission as a Quartermaster officer from Pennsylvania State University in 2005. He is a graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Logistics Captains Career Course, and the Command and General Staff College.

Previous assignments include logistics planner, Commander’s Planning Group, Combined Arms Support Command at Fort Lee (known as Fort Gregg-Adams since 2023), Virginia; Major General James Wright fellow at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia; small group leader, Logistics Captains Career Course, Army Logistics University at Fort Lee; commander, Echo Company, 307th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team at Fort Bragg (known as Fort Liberty since 2023), North Carolina and forward deployed to Afghanistan; assistant brigade S-4 (Logistics), 1st BCT, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg and forward deployed to Iraq; executive officer, Foxtrot Company, 307th Bde Spt Bn, 1st BCT at Fort Bragg and forward deployed to Iraq; and Distribution platoon leader, Foxtrot Company, 307th BSB, 1st BCT at Fort Bragg and forward deployed to Iraq. Prior to his last assignment, he served as the Support Operations officer and executive officer for the 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and forward deployed to Kuwait.

His other military education and courses include Airborne School, Air Assault School, Ranger School, the Support Operations Officer Course, Modern Army Combatives Level 1 & 2, and the Mortuary Affairs Officer Course.

LTC Jones’ civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in information sciences & technology from Pennsylvania State University, a Bachelor of Arts in history from University of Maryland University College, and a Master of Business Administration from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary.

LTC Jones’ awards and decorations include three Bronze Stars, five Meritorious Service Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Naval Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Staff Badge, NATO Medal, Ranger Tab, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, German Parachutist Badge, and the Quartermaster Order of Saint Martin.

LTC Jones is married to the former Meredith Reamey and they have one son.
