LTC Stephen M. Neppl

Commander, Army Field Support Battalion - Hawaii

Lieutenant Colonel Stephen M. Neppl assumed command of Army Field Support Battalion-Hawaii on May 9, 2025.

He previously served as the executive officer, 402nd Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

LTC Neppl’s command and leadership assignments include platoon leader, 606th Forward Support Company, 1st Battalion, 377th Field Artillery Regiment (Air Assault); commander, 520th Support Maintenance Company, 501st Sustainment Brigade; battalion executive officer and Support Operations officer, 299th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division; and Chief of Logistics Plans, U.S. Army Pacific.

His deployments include with 17th Fires Brigade in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and with 299th BSB, 2nd ABCT, 1st Inf Div in support of a Korean Rotational Unit.

LTC Neppl is a graduate of the Basic Officer Leadership Course II, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Basic Officer Leadership Course III, Ordnance Officer Basic Course at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland; Combined Logistics Career Course at Fort Lee, Virginia; and, the Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

LTC Neppl received his commission into the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps from the University of Colorado, Boulder, ROTC, in 2007. He has a Master of Science in logistics management, Florida Institute of Technology Melbourne, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science, University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon (2) and Air Assault Badge.

LTC Neppl is a native of Hancock, New Hampshire. He is married and has four children.
