Sergeant Major Maurice A. Carter Jr. assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion-Hawaii in October 2021.
SGM Carter entered active duty from his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee Aug. 1, 1997. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Advanced Individual Training as an automated logistical specialist at Fort Lee (known as Fort Gregg-Adams since 2023), Virginia.

SGM Carter has attended numerous military schools includes to include Primary Leadership Development Course); Advanced Leaders Course; Senior Leaders Course; Master Fitness Course; Battle Staff Course, Support Operation Phase I and II; the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 70.

SGM Carter is married and has three children.
