Master Sergeant Symone’ M. Leonard assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion-Northeast Asia, 403rd Army Field Support Brigade, October 2023.

Her most recent assignment was 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas, where she served as an operations sergeant.

MSG Leonard enlisted in the Army on March 9, 2006. She attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advance Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. She graduated as a 63B - Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic with Electrical Starter and Generator Repairer Additional Skill Identifier, A-4.

She has served in numerous leadership positions including team leader, squad leader, shop foreman, motor sergeant, platoon sergeant and detachment sergeant. MSG Leonard’s assignments include: Bravo Company, 302nd Brigade Support Battalion, 210th Fires Brigade, Camp Casey, South Korea; Foxtrot Battery, 1st Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Bliss, Texas; 33rd Financial Management Support Unit, 10th Special Troops Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, Fort Drum, New York; Echo Forward Support Company, 2nd Battalion, 159th Air Reconnaissance, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, Storck Barracks, Germany; Delta Company, 16th Ordnance Battalion, 59th Ordnance Brigade, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia; Bravo and Echo Companies, 832nd Ordnance Battalion, 59th Ordnance Brigade, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia; Task Force 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia; Echo Forward Support Company, 2nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bliss, Texas.

She has deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

MSG Leonard’s military education includes: Basic Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Battle Staff, Advanced Individual Training Platoon Sergeant Course, Master Resilience Training, Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Fuel Handler Course, Small Arms Master Marksman Course, Property Book Unit Supply Course, and Wheeled Vehicle Recovery Course.

Her civilian education includes an Associate of Science degree in management and a Bachelor of Science degree in public safety administration, both from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

MSG Leonard’s awards and decorations include: The Meritorious Service Medal, three Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, a Meritorious Unit Citation, five Good Conduct Medals, Nation Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with one bronze campaign star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral 3), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (with numeral 5), and the Driver and Mechanic Badge.

MSG Leonard was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is married and has three sons.
