Commander, Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston

Lieutenant Colonel Sheron Collins assumed command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Charleston, South Carolina, June 10, 2025.

She previously served as deputy director of the Logistics and Materiel Readiness Branch at the Sustainment Center of Excellence, Fort Lee, Virginia.

Her past assignments include serving as the executive officer to the Army’s Quartermaster commandant; military advisor, Bureau of Political Military Affairs, and the East Asia and Pacific Diplomatic Security Office, Department of State; Support Operations officer, 407th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division; division transportation officer, 82nd Airborne Division; G-4 (Logistics) planner, XVIII Airborne Corps; company commander, Bravo Company, 82nd Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Abn Div; battalion S4 (Logistics), 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Battalion S4 (Logistics), 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade; accountable officer, 227th Quartermaster Company, 101st Sus Bde; aide de camp, 19th Expeditionary Support Command; and executive officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Special Troops Battalion, 501st Sustainment Brigade.

Additionally, LTC Collins has completed tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Korea.

Her military schooling includes the Officer Basic Course, Captains Career Course, and the Army Command and General Staff College.

LTC Collins was commissioned through ROTC upon graduation in 2006 from Hampton University. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and holds a Master of Science in adult education and leadership from Kansas State University.

LTC Collins’ awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal (International Security Assistance Force), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge, German Airborne Badge, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

LTC Collins is a native of Hinesville, Georgia. She is married and has six children.
