Lieutenant Colonel Stuart P. Williams assumed the duties as commander of the Army Field Support Battalion – Charleston on June 8, 2023.

LTC Williams commissioned as an Ordnance officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate education at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in 2004.

LTC Williams’ assignments include platoon leader and maintenance control officer, 546th Maintenance Company, Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk (known as Fort Johnson since 2023), Louisiana; military advisor for Logistics Operations, Military Transition Team, Provincial Police Logistics, and the 3rd Iraqi Army Division G4 (Logistics); company commander of the 32nd Transportation Company and S3 plans officer/Assistant Brigade S-3, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, Fort Carson, Colorado; operations officer in the Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security Directorate, U.S. Army Garrison, Camp Humphreys, South Korea; training developer for Ordnance Basic Officer Leader Course at the Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Lee (known as Fort Gregg-Adams since 2023), Virginia; Task Force support operations officer and Regiment S4 (Logistics), 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; chief of Plans, Combined Arms Support Command G3, Fort Lee; G5 School of Advanced Military Studies planner, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg (known as Fort Liberty since 2023), North Carolina.

LTC Williams has deployed multiple times to Iraq on three tours in 2006, 2009, and 2017. He also had an unaccompanied tour to South Korea in 2012, and most recently in 2022 to Germany.

LTC Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Lamar University; a Master of Business Administration from Trident University, California; a Master of Military Arts and Science from the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; and a Master of Arts in Military Operations from the School of Advanced Military Studies, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

His awards and decorations include the two Bronze Star Medals, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (5th award), Korean National Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Citation, Parachutist Badge, and Combat Action Badge.

He is married to Stefanie Williams, and they have three daughters.
