Bn-Lewis Senior Enlisted Advisor

Sergeant Major Rene O. Aleman assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the 404th Army Field Support Battalion-Lewis McChord, Washington, in October 2023.

SGM Aleman is a native of Robstown, Texas, and enlisted in the Army in July 2000 as a power generation equipment specialist. He attended basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and advanced individual training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.

SGM Aleman has served as mechanic, maintenance section sergeant, shop foreman, squad leader, platoon sergeant, maintenance control sergeant, first sergeant, S4 (Operations) NCOIC, and division maintenance sergeant major.

His stateside assignment locations include Fort Bliss, Texas; Fort Carson, Colorado; Cleveland, Ohio; Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia; and Fort Cavasos, Texas. His overseas assignment locations include South Korea, and he has deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Jordan for combat and peacekeeping operations. SGM Aleman’s military education includes the Hydraulic Cylinder and Electric Power Plant Repair Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Army Recruiter school, Air Assault Course, Senior Leaders Course, Battle Staff Course, Observer/Controller Course, Basic Instructor Course, First Sergeant Course, Joint Logistics Course, Operational Contractor Course, Support Operations Phase II Course, Global Combat Systems Army Warehouse Operations Course, and Sergeants Major Course Class 72.

SGM Aleman’s civilian education includes an undergraduate certificate in leadership and workforce development from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, a bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies from the University of Texas-El Paso, a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University, and a doctorate degree of business administration with a cognate in project management from Liberty University. SGM Aleman also holds 16 welding certifications to include structural welding inspection, boilermaker welding, automotive welding, and cross-country pipeline welding.

SGM Aleman’s awards and decorations include four Meritorious Service Medals, six Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, Valorous Unit Award, three Meritorious Unit Commendations, seven Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, Iraqi Campaign Medals, with two Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, four Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, and two Overseas Service Ribbon, Gold Recruiter Badge, Basic Instructor Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, and the Army Driver and Mechanic Badge.
