LTC Shawn S. Tajalle

Commander, Army Field Support Battalion - Lewis

Lieutenant Colonel Shawn S. Tajalle assumed command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Lewis-McChord, Washington, June 12, 2025.

He previously served as the chief of Sustainment, 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

His first assignment was with the 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) from 2007-2012 serving in a variety of positions to include Supply Support Activity platoon Leader and executive officer for Alpha Company, 563rd ASB; Battalion S4 (Logistics) officer in charge, Headquarters Support Company, 563rd ASB; and battalion rear-detachment commander for 563rd ASB. He then was assigned to the 35th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, 10th Regional Support Group as the Support Operations plans officer. A year later he took command of Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, U.S. Army Garrison Japan and was the garrison executive officer. Following command, he served as the chief of Logistics & Property for NATO Communications and Information Agency Communications and Information Support Units from 2013-2015 at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Belgium. LTC Tajalle was assigned to 1st Group Support Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group where he served as the GSB S3 (Operations) officer and Group Support Operations officer from 2018-2020. He then was assigned to I CORPS, JBLM, where he worked in G4 (Logistics) operations. In 2021-2025 LTC Tajalle was then assigned to 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, serving as the S4 (Logistics) officer.

LTC Tajalle served three combat tours in Afghanistan; Bagram 2008-2009, Kandahar 2011-2012, and Kabul 2015.

His military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the Aerial Delivery and Materiel Officer Course, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, and Army Command and General Staff College.

LTC Tajalle attended the University of Guam, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, and commissioned as a Quartermaster officer. He also has a master’s degree in transportation and logistics management from American Military University.

His awards and decorations include three Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Commendation Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and Rigger Badge.

LTC Tajalle hails from Guam. He is married and has five children.
