Senior Enlisted Advisor, Army Field Support Battalion - Lewis

Master Sergeant John D. Larche assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion–Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, on Aug. 28, 2025.

His last assignment was senior enlisted advisor, Army Field Support Battalion-Africa, Leghorn Army Depot, Italy.

MSG Larche joined the Army in August 2002. He attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Advance Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, as a light wheeled vehicle mechanic.

MSG Larche’s duty assignments include wheeled vehicle mechanic and team leader, 2nd Squadron, 21st Cavalry Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas; senior wheeled vehicle mechanic and squad leader, Bravo Company, 141st Signal Company, 589th Signal Company, Germany and Forward Support Company, 62nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood; battalion motor sergeant, Forward Support Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; motor sergeant and platoon sergeant/ first sergeant, Fox Company, 1st Aviation Regiment, Fort Riley, Kansas; and instructor/writer/training developer and division noncommissioned officer in charge, Logistics & Materiel Readiness Directorate, Combined Arms Support Command, and Sexual Assault Response coordinator, Army Logistics University, Fort Lee, Virginia.

MSG Larche deployed to Iraq from 2002-2003 and in 2008-2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Afghanistan from 2011-2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and Iraq 2015 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

MSG Larche’s military education includes Army Maintenance Managers Course, Support Operations Course, Contracting Officer Course, SHARP Foundation Course and Career Course and has completed all Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System courses through the Master Leaders Course.

His civilian education includes an associate degree in general studies, bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in logistics, and a master’s degree in business with a concentration in project management from Saint Leo University.

MSG Larche’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, seven Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Air and Space Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, four Meritorious Unit Commendations, seven Good Conduct Medals, Humanitarian Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (4 Campaign Stars), Inherit Resolve Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 7), NATO Medal, Driver Mechanic Badge, Driver Wheeled Badge, and Technician Badge. He is a recipient of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe.

MSG Larche is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. He is married and has one child.
