Command Sergeant Major Brian L. Creed assumed responsibility of the 404th Army Field Support Brigade on Dec. 20, 2024.
He previously served on a rotation to Poznan, Poland, in support of Operation European Assure Deter and Reinforce.
CSM Creed enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 1999. He attended basic training at Parris Island Recruit Depot, South Carolina; Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina; and then his advanced individual training at Camp Johnson, North Carolina. Upon his honorable discharge in 2003, he enlisted in the Army in April 2004 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic.
CSM Creed has served as a team leader, squad leader and platoon sergeant in both the Marine Corps and Army. He has served as a wrecker noncommissioned officer in charge, shop foreman, company motor sergeant, Special Operations recruiter, small group leader and senior small group leader, division maintenance supervisor, first sergeant, senior enlisted advisor of Army Field Support Battalion-Korea, and command sergeant major of the 47th Brigade Support Battalion.
His stateside assignments include Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; Fort Hood (known as Fort Cavazos since 2023), Texas; Fort Gordon (known as Fort Eisenhower since 2023), Georgia; Fort Benning (known as Fort Moore since 2023), Georgia; Fort Bragg, (known as Fort Liberty since 2023), North Carolina; and Fort Bliss, Texas. His overseas assignments include Okinawa, Japan; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; and Camp Humphreys, Korea. He has deployed twice to Iraq, and once to Kuwait for combat and training missions.
CSM Creed’s military education includes the Marine Corps Organizational Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Maintenance Courses; Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Tan and Grey Belt; Motor Pool Operations Management; Commander’s Total Fitness Course; Combatives Level 1; Total Army Basic Instructor and Small Group Instructor Courses; Army Recruiting Course; Basic Airborne Course; Civil Affairs Assessment and Selection; Master Resilience Trainer Course; Tactical Information Operations Planners Course; Lean Six Sigma Green and Black Belt; all phases of noncommissioned professional development to include the Sergeants Major Academy (Class 71); Battalion Pre-Command Course; and the Sergeants Major Development Course.
His civilian education includes an associate and bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree from American Military University in political science and international relations. CSM Creed is language qualified through the Special Operations Language Course – French.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, five Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation, six Army Good Conduct Medals, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (Bronze Star), Global War on Terror Service and Expeditionary Medals, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (5th award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, Naval Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Korean Defense Medal, Basic Army Recruiter Badge, Basic Airborne Badge, Arctic Tab, German Proficiency Badge (Silver), and Japanese and Italian Jump Wings.
CSM Creed is a native of Tampa, Florida. He has one son.
