Sergeant Major Alejandro Romar assumed responsibility as the Army Field Support Battalion—Benelux’s Senior Enlisted Advisor in June 2022.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1998, and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), Georgia, for the MOS 11B (Infantryman). He reclassified to 92A (Automated Supply Specialist) in 2008, and attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly Fort Lee), Virginia.
SGM Romar has held the following positions during his military career: rifleman, Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), Texas; team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant, Company C, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, Baumholder, Germany; operations NCO, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; materiel management NCO, General Supply Office NCOIC, HHC, 45th Sustainment Brigade, Schofield Barracks; group support operations NCOIC, group S-4 NCOIC, the U.S. Army Asymmetric Warfare Group, Fort Meade, Maryland; first sergeant, U.S. Army Garrison Benelux, Chièvres Air Base, Belgium; first sergeant, G Company and Forward Support Company, 101st Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; first sergeant, HHC, Special Troops Battalion, Fort Riley; first sergeant, 526th Quartermaster Composite Supply Company, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Fort Riley; G4 supply and service sergeant major Signal, Intelligence, Sustainment Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Humphreys, South Korea; support operations sergeant major, 2nd Infantry Division, Division Sustainment Brigade, Camp Humphreys.
SGM Romar has participated in multiple deployments in support of missions in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. Additionally he has served in rotational forces supporting efforts in South Korea and Poland.
His military education includes: the Operational Contracting Support, Battle Staff, Joint Logistics Course; the Navy expeditionary Logistics Course; the Support Operation Course Phase II; all levels of Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System, including the Sergeants Major Academy Class 70.
SGM Romar has completed an associate degree in psychology through Troy University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice through Columbia Southern University. He also holds a certification as a master logistician from the International Society of Logistics.
