Command Sergeant Major Patrick Marrill assumed responsibility of the 405th Army Field Support Brigade on Oct. 30, 2024.

CSM Marrill enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1999 under the split option program where he spent three years in the Army Reserve and then joined the Active Army in June 2002. He attended basic combat training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he was awarded the military occupation specialty 88M, motor transport operator.

CSM Marrill’s key assignments and duties include heavy equipment transporter, 96th Transportation Company, Fort Hood (known as Fort Cavazos since 2023), Texas; dispatcher, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C.; team leader, Echo Company, 302nd Brigade Support Battalion, Camp Casey, South Korea; section sergeant, F Company, 610th BSB, Fort Riley, Kansas; drill sergeant, D Company, 1st Battalion, 48th Infantry Regiment; senior drill sergeant, A Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood; platoon sergeant, 96th Transportation Company, Fort Hood; platoon sergeant, 418th Transportation Company, Fort Hood; truck master, 418th Transportation Company, Fort Hood; Highway Operations sergeant, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Kaiserslautern, Germany; detachment sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 39th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control), Kaiserslautern; first sergeant, 2nd Transportation Company, Fort Irwin, California; battalion sergeant major, 837th Transportation Battalion, Pusan, South Korea; Surface Deployment and Distribution Command G3 (Operations) sergeant major, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; and the 194th Division Sustainment Support Battalion command sergeant major, Camp Humphreys, South Korea. CSM Marrill also has combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

His military education includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Senior Leaders Course, Sergeants Major Course Class 70, Drill Sergeant School, Basic Instructor Course, SHARP Course, Combatives Levels 1 & 2, Managers Development Course, Supervisor Development Course, and Master Resilience Trainer.

CSM Marrill holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from Columbia Southern University.

His awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (5th Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and Combat Action Badge.

CSM Marrill is a native of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He is married and has 4 children.
