LTC Tanya M. Leonard

Commander, Army Field Support Battalion - Stewart

Lieutenant Colonel Tanya M. Leonard assumed command of Army Field Support Battalion- Stewart, at Fort Stewart, Georgia, on June 25, 2025.

She previously served as the J4 (Logistics), chief of Operations and Exercises for Special Operations Command Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii.

LTC Leonard enlisted into the Army Reserve in 2003 as a Military Police. She was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps in 2007 through the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.

Other assignments include executive officer for the commanding general of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Commander’s Initiative Group chief, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Shafter; Support Operations officer, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; battalion executive officer, Army Field Support Battalion- Riley, Fort Riley; Supply & Services officer, Joint Modernization Command, Fort Bliss, Texas; Logistics Application officer, Joint Modernization Command, Fort Bliss; commander, 579th Forward Support Company, Camp Casey, South Korea; and she served as the G9 (Installations) Operations officer, 8th Army, Yongsan, Korea.

LTC Leonard has deployed in support of numerous operations to include Operation Inherent Resolve, Operation Iraq Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in administration from Central Michigan University.

Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, six Meritorious Service Medals, and four Army Commendation Medals. She also has various unit, service, and campaign awards, and the Air Assault Badge.

LTC Leonard is a native of Delmar, Delaware. She is married and has two children.
