Sergeant Major Anthony Gomez assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion-Carson August 2021.

He enlisted into the U.S. Army in August 2000 as an automated logistical specialist. He completed basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and advanced individual training at Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly Fort Lee), Virginia.

SGM Gomez’s previous positions and assignments include: material management noncommissioned officer, 4th Corps Materiel Management Center, 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), Texas; detailed recruiter, Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion, Los Angeles, California; equipment records and parts sergeant, 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; materiel control and accounting supervisor, 501st Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas; operations NCO and detachment sergeant, 16th Special Troops Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, Warner Barracks, Germany; senior logistics trainer/advisor, Regional Support Command-South, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan; senior human resources NCO, 157th Infantry Brigade, Camp Atterbury, Indiana; first sergeant and logistics operations observer controller/trainer, 1st Battalion, 290th Regiment, 157th Infantry Brigade, Camp Atterbury; first sergeant, Juliet Forward Support Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado; operations sergeant, 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson; and distributed learning support chief, Directorate of Curriculum Development, NCO Leadership Center of Excellence, Fort Bliss.

SGM Gomez has deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and once in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Atlantic Resolve, and Operation Spartan Shield.

SGM Gomez’s military training and education include: the Basic Leader Course, the Advance Leader Course (commandant’s list), the Senior Leader Course (distinguished honor graduate), the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, and the Sergeants Major Course – Class 70 (commandant’s list). He has also completed the SHARP Certification Course, the Battle Staff NCO Course, the Operational Contracting Support Course, the Training and Education Middle Manager’s Course, the Common Faculty Development – Developer and Instructor Courses, the Total Army Instructor Training Course, the Small Group Instructor Training Course, and the Observer/Coach Trainer Academy.

SGM Gomez has an associate degree in distribution operations management from Coastline College, a bachelor’s degree in applied management from Franklin University, a master’s degree in administration and organization development from the University of the Incarnate Word, and an education specialist degree from Liberty University. He has also earned a demonstrated master logistician credential and has a standard adult education teaching license.

SGM Gomez’s awards include two Bronze Star Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, seven Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, three Meritorious Unit Citations, the Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, the Army Gold Recruiter Badge, the Combat Action Badge, the Driver’s Badge, and the German Schutzenschnur Badge (Gold). He is also a recipient of the Honorable Order of Saint Martin.

SGM Gomez is a native of Lemoore, California. He is married and has two daughters.
