AFSBn Riley Senior Enlisted Advisor

Sergeant Major Jason Joseph assumed the duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion-Riley August 2023.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 3, 2001. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, as a cannon crewmember (13B). In May 2005, SGM Joseph attended AIT again at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and reclassified as a motor transport operator (88M). His current military occupational specialty is transportation senior sergeant.

SGM Joseph has held various leadership positions throughout his career: ammunition team chief, heavy vehicle driver, section sergeant, Squad Leader, detachment sergeant, truck master, mobility section sergeant, platoon sergeant, sexual assault response coordinator, first sergeant, and senior enlisted advisor.

His deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005-2006 and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012. He holds an associate degree in general studies from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Campbell University, and a Master of Science in management from Excelsior University.

SGM Joseph’s military training includes: Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Master Leader Course, Sergeants Major Academy (Class 73), Senior Transportation Operation Course, Operation Contract Support Course, Joint Logistics Course, Survival, Evasion/Resistance and Escape School (SERE-C), Sharp Foundation Course, Jumpmaster Course, Commander/First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, Master Resilience Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Air Movement Operations Course, and Air Assault Course. SGM Joseph’s awards and decorations include: two Meritorious Service Medals, six Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, seven Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Master Parachutist Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, German Jump Wings, Air Assault Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. SGM Joseph is a recipient of the Distinguished Order of Saint Christopher and Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe.

SGM Joseph is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and has one son.
