Sergeant Major Jason E. Reeves assumed duties as the senior enlisted advisor of the Army Field Support Battalion-Alaska, Fort Greely, Alaska, in February 2024.
SGM Reeves enlisted in February of 2000 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He attended basic training at Camp Pendleton, California, and advanced individual training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
SGM Reeves has served in every leadership position from team leader through Platoon Sergeant, and as the 1SG of G Company, 1-501st, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4/25 Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, United States Army Alaska. SGM Reeves also served as the 59th Ordnance Brigade Operations Sergeant Major and is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Army Field Support Battalion Alaska.
His stateside assignments include Fort Drum, New York, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Bliss, Texas, and Fort Gregg-Adams, Virgina. His overseas assignments include Camp Foster, Japan, and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, and Syria for combat and peacekeeping operations.
SGM Reeves’ military education includes the Basic Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Course, Basic Leaders Course, Airborne Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Special Operations Language Course, Senior Leaders Course, Special Operations Combatives Program, Combatives Levels 1-3, SHARP Course, Air Assault Course, 1SG Course, Support Operations Course Phase 1 & 2, Rappel Master Course, Special Forces Support Operations Training Course, Jumpmaster Course, and the Sergeants Major Academy. His civilian education includes an Associate of General Studies and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Columbia.
SGM Reeves’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd award), NATO Medal, Senior Rated Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, Italian Parachutist Badge, Drivers/Mechanic Badge, National Guard Recruiting Badge, and the Non-commissioned Officers Profession Development Ribbon (5th award).
SGM Reeves is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He is married and has two children.
