Thomas (Ted) E. Gloss assumed duties as deputy to the commander, Army Field Support Battalion-Korea, Nov. 6, 2022.

He most recently served as chief, S-3 (Plans, Operations and Training), 403rd Army Field Support Brigade, Camp Henry, South Korea, beginning Jan. 19, 2020.

Mr. Gloss has worked for the federal government for 40 years both as an active-duty noncommissioned officer (retired) and now as a Department of the Army Civilian. His DA civilian assignments include: deputy to the commander, Army Field Support Battalion-Afghanistan; deputy support operations officer, 3rd Battalion, 401st Army Field Support Brigade, Afghanistan; and chief of Future Operations, Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Michigan.

Mr. Gloss is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in strategic leadership from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College, Albany, New York; and an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.

Mr. Gloss’s civilian awards and decorations include two Superior Civilian Service Medals, two Civilian Service Commendation Medals, the Civilian Service Achievement Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the NATO Medal. His military awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, seven Army Achievement Medals, seven Good Conduct Medals, the Expert Field Medical badge, and various other campaign and service awards.

Mr. Gloss is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act certified Level 3 in Life Cycle Logistics and Level 1 Program Management.

Mr. Gloss is a native of Portland, Oregon. He is married and has two adult sons.
