Lieutenant Colonel Larry W. Jewett III assumed command of the Army Field Support Battalion-Drum on June 4, 2024.

He most recently served as secretary of the Joint Staff, Joint Task Force North, Fort Bliss, Texas.

He has deployed to Iraq with the 183rd Field Maintenance Company, 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade and to Afghanistan with the 43rd Sustainment Brigade.

LTC Jewett’s military education include the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Theater Sustainment Planners Course, and Command and General Staff College.

He received his commission from the University of Idaho as an ordnance officer in 2006. LTC Jewett holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial technology from the University of Idaho and a master’s in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, Parachutist Badge, German Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge. He is also a recipient of the Order of Samuel Sharpe, Order of Saint Christopher, and Order of Saint Martin Awards.

A native of Mountain Home, Idaho, LTC Jewett is married and they have one son.
